Through this page, we would like to tell you more about how our organization began, and what it went through in the past years.
In 1981 certain individuals got together with an aim to help humanity from the paltform of Lions International and formed Karachi Metro Lions Club, with the Chartered Presedent Lion A.T. Fakhruddin - a young businessman. The Club started with 36 members. With a modest beginning , the club continued to help the needy of the community in small ways.
In the year 1983, Karachi Metro Lions Club decided to start a permanent Medical Project. For that purpose Health Center Building in the Metroville area of Karachi was found lying vacant; except for a few rooms which were being used by K.M.C . The concerned authoroties were approached and succeded in getting the vacant possession of the Health Centre building.
The building consisting of two wings; which contained 28 rooms spread over an area of more than 4000 sqaure yards, was in a dilapidated state. However, God had given us a great opportunity to prove ourselves, and for us it was a dream come true.

After spending more than Two Hundred thousand rupees on renovation, and repairs of the building, we started our journey on the 25th of March 1987. A Morning OPD and a Maternity ward were inagurated with 12 beds. Several phillithropists and Club members contributed generously.
In 1987, we started with One Female and One Male Doctor, One Dispenser and One Midwife (we now employ 60 emplyees which include General Physicians, ENT Specialists etc..). Very soon we started a free vaccination service for women and children. An X-Ray machine and a Pathological Laborotary was also established.
We take our hats off for all the Lions and non-Lions who have contributed to our cause.
In 1987-88 which was the first working year of our hospital, we treated approximately 50 patients a day, whereas now we treat up to 300 patients.
Free medical camps are held regularly to treat more and more needy patients of the locality.
